Yan'an, September 10th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended here today a thematic briefing "Stories of CPC—Achievements of Shaanxi in Practicing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era." In his keynote speech, Liu shared the CPC's practical experience in exploring and developing the "Two Integrations" and leading Chinese modernization, stressing that the CPC remains committed to openness to embrace the world.

Liu said that through the great practices of revolution, construction, reform and the new era, the CPC has not only sought happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation, but has also always been committed to the progress of humanity and the great harmony of the world. During the Yan'an period, Comrade Mao Zedong closely followed world developments from his low cave dwelling, and the then still-small CPC received precious support from just forces across the world. Edgar Snow's Red Star Over China and Agnes Smedley's Daughter of Earth objectively introduced the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression led by the CPC, and Norman Bethune, treating countless Eighth Route Army soldiers, embodied the great spirit of internationalism. We will never forget all this. In the new era, with the whole world in mind, General Secretary Xi Jinping has proposed the vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity, advocated Belt and Road cooperation, and put forward in a systematic way the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative, contributing China's wisdom and China's solutions to meeting the common challenges facing humanity.
