Beijing, October 10th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended here today the Sixth China-Pacific Island Countries Political Leadership Dialogue.

Liu said, in the face of a turbulent and volatile international situation and a growing array of global challenges, China stands ready to work with Pacific Island Countries (PICs) to advance institutional innovation and transform cooperation models, and explore pathways for cooperation in which developing countries set their own agendas, consult on an equal footing to formulate policies, and share the fruits of development, so as to contribute wisdom on global governance and provide practical examples for countries of the Global South to unite in addressing challenges and achieving strength through solidarity and self-reliance.

At the regional level, China will actively support and participate in cooperation mechanisms conducive to peace, development and prosperity in the Pacific island region, and actively engage in trilateral and multilateral cooperation to complement the strengths of all parties and build synergy, jointly promoting regional peace, stability, development and prosperity.

At the global level, China stands ready to work with the PICs to jointly implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative, promote a more just and equitable global governance system, and work together to build a community with a shared future for humanity.
