Beijing, October 13th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Emmanuel Bonne, French President's Diplomatic Adviser.

Liu said, France was the first Western country with which China established a strategic dialogue mechanism. Over the past decade, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Emmanuel Macron, the China-France comprehensive strategic partnership has maintained a high level of development, continuously delivering benefits to the peoples of both countries. China values the positive outcomes achieved in bilateral relations and stands ready to work with France to uphold the general direction of friendly cooperation and continuously consolidate the political foundation of China-France relations. China and France are important economic and trade partners. China is willing to expand cooperation with France in emerging fields such as the green economy, the digital economy and artificial intelligence to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. He expressed the hope that France would leverage its influence as a core EU member state to promote the proper resolution of China-EU economic and trade differences through equal consultations, and help foster the stable and sound development of China-EU relations. In the face of profound changes unseen in a century, China and France should work together to uphold multilateralism, actively promote political solutions to regional crises, and join hands to improve global governance.
Liu also briefed Bonne on the CPC's international exchanges, saying that the CPC stands ready to work with major French political parties to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, consolidate mechanisms for political party dialogue, strengthen high-level political mutual trust, promote exchanges at all levels, and expand platforms for “political party+” cooperation to contribute to the development of China-France relations.

Bonne said, France-China relations have maintained a high level of development in recent years. President Macron and President Xi have maintained regular, high-quality dialogue and put forward many important initiatives on bilateral economic and trade cooperation, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and international and multilateral affairs, making important contributions to the development of France-China and EU-China relations as well as the world at large. France is willing to continue to be a capable cooperation partner with China that can make independent decisions, strengthen communication through mechanisms such as the China-France strategic dialogue, promote cooperation in areas including economy and trade, enhance exchanges in culture, education, youth affairs and between political parties, properly address macroeconomic imbalances, and advance balanced development of EU-China relations. The two sides should also continue to strengthen coordination within frameworks such as the United Nations and the Group of 20 (G20), work to resolve issues including the conflict in the Middle East and the Russia-Ukraine war, and promote AI safety and sustainable development.
Bertrand Lortholary, French Ambassador to China, and others were present.
