Beijing, April 3rd—Li Jun, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today at noon with Ricardo Lagos, founder of Party for Democracy (PPD) and former President of Chile.

Li appreciated Lagos's contributions to the development of China-Chile relations over the years and said that the CPC is willing to work with the PPD to strengthen exchanges and cooperation and push for the sustained and sound development of bilateral relations. Li also introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Lagos spoke positively of the world significance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and noted that Chile regards China as a diplomatic priority and is willing to make greater contributions to deepening bilateral cooperation between the two Parties and the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
