Beijing, September 6th—Guo Shengkun, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and Head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation headed by Simon Joseph Bridges, Leader of the New Zealand National Party.

Guo made positive comments on China-New Zealand relations and the exchanges between the two Parties, and introduced the great development achievements made since the founding of the People’s Republic of China 70 years ago, especially since the 18th CPC National Congress, and the party's experience in state governance. He pointed out that inter-party exchanges are an important part of bilateral relations and the CPC is willing to take the opportunity of implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries to strengthen friendly exchanges between the two Parties, learn from each other and push for new progress in China-New Zealand relations.

Bridges expressed the willingness to continue to enhance friendly exchanges with the CPC.
