From April 13th to 14th, the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) donated 10,000 masks to the Democratic Rally of Cyprus and the Progressive Party of the Working People respectively, in an effort to support Cyprus’ fight against the COVID-19 outbreak. George Lysandrides, Director General of the Democratic Rally and Nikos Ioannou, Member of Secretariat of Central Committee of the Progressive Party of the Working People, on behalf of respective parties, received the materials at the Chinese Embassy in Cyprus respectively.

The two Cypriot parties spoke highly of China’s important contributions to the global fight against the virus, and extended sincere gratitude to the IDCPC’s donations for Cyprus in the midst of the epidemic. Averof Neofytou, President of the Democratic Rally, noted that the donation fully embodies the rock-firm inter-party relations between the Democratic Rally and the CPC, as well as the friendship and unity between Cyprus and China. On behalf of the Progressive Party of the Working People, Ioannou sincerely thanked the CPC for its strong support at this critical moment, saying that the international community should learn China’s effective measures and successful experience in combating the coronavirus outbreak.
