On April 16th, Li Jun, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, spoke on the phone with Diosdado Cabello Rondón, First-Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).

Li briefed on the practices and experience of China in carrying out epidemic prevention and control and coordinating economic and social development under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, and thanked the Venezuelan side for giving firm support and assistance to China’s fight against the epidemic. Li noted that the CPC is willing to increase anti-epidemic cooperation and exchange of experience with the PSUV and offer assistance to Venezuela within its capacity.

Cabello thanked China for its material assistance and spiritual support to the PSUV, the Cuban government and the people after the epidemic broke out in Venezuela. He said that China has made tremendous contributions to the mankind's response to the novel coronavirus disease. The CPC has shown a strong leadership and convening power as well as the ability to take swift actions in fighting the epidemic. The PSUV stands ready to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the CPC in a bid to defeat the pandemic together.
