On the afternoon of May 21st, Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, had exchanges via video link with Fabien Roussel, National Secretary of the French Communist Party (PCF).
Qian briefed Roussel on China’s practices and experience in COVID-19 containment and its international anti-epidemic cooperation as well as the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind. Extending gratitude to the PCF’s firm support for China’s fight against the disease, Qian expressed the CPC’s readiness to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the PCF, and promote mutual understanding and mutual trust to boost sustained development of the relations between the CPC and PCF.
Roussel highly commended the proposals and measures for international cooperation in combating the epidemic put forward by President Xi Jinping in his statement at virtual event of opening of the 73rd World Health Assembly, and expressed the opposition to practices of stigmatization and politicization under the pretext of the epidemic, and also the PCF’s willingness to bolster exchanges with the CPC to advance the further deepening of the relations between the PCF and the CPC.
