On the afternoon of June 2nd, Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, had communications via video link with Lars Klingbeil, General Secretary of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD).

Qian briefed on China’s two sessions and China’s efforts in COVID-19 prevention and control and international cooperation against the pandemic, and expressed the CPC’s readiness to further develop the traditional friendly relations with the SPD under the new circumstances, and jointly make positive contributions to promoting China-Germany relations as well as China-Europe relations.

Klingbeil spoke highly of China’s explicit support for multilateralism and its active conducting of international cooperation against the virus, and expressed the SPD’s readiness to continue to enhance exchanges between the two Parties, so as to advance the sound and stable development of Germany-China relations and Europe-China relations.
