On the afternoon of June 17th, Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, exchanged via videolink with Nicos Ioannou, Secretary for Economy of the Progressive Party of Working People of Cyprus.

Qian briefed on China's coordinated efforts in COVID-19 response and economic and social development and its active conducting of international anti-pandemic cooperation, and expressed that the CPC attaches importance to the traditional friendly relations with the Progressive Party of Working People. Qian hoped that both sides could make joint efforts to promote China-Cyprus and China-Europe relations and the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

Ioannou noted that the Progressive Party of Working People thanks the Chinese side for providing support and assistance to Cyprus’ fight against the pandemic, and is willing to further step up exchanges between the two Parties, to advance Cyprus-China and Europe-China cooperation.
