On July 6th, Li Mingxiang, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), attended an opening ceremony of online training workshop for cadres of the Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP), and addressed the event via videolink. On behalf of IDCPC Minister Song Tao and the IDCPC, Li extended congratulations to the opening of the workshop, and expressed China’s readiness to work with Africa to implement the outcomes reached at the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity against COVID-19, build a strong China-Africa community with a shared future, and contribute to international anti-pandemic cooperation. The CPC is willing to share with the SLPP experience in fighting the virus and promoting economic and social development to push China-Sierra Leone comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership for sustained development.
In his speech via videolink, SLPP Secretary-General Umaru Koroma spoke highly of the relations between the two Parties and the two countries, and extended sincere gratitude to General Secretary Xi Jinping for putting forward major measures to help Africa fight the pandemic at many occasions including the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity against COVID-19. He said that the workshop will further intensify relations between the SLPP and the CPC and help the SLPP enhance its capability of pandemic containment and economic recovery.
Guests attending the workshop were over 20 SLPP middle and senor cadres including Foreign Minister Nabeela Tunis, and Sierra Leonean Ambassador to China Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, and Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone Hu Zhangliang. During the four-day workshop, both sides will had in-depth exchanges on such topic as giving play to the leadership role of the ruling parties, coordinating pandemic response and economic and social development, jointly combating poverty, and consolidating China-Africa friendship.
