On the morning of July 9th, Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, had exchanges via videolink with Hon. Charlot Salwai, President of the Reunification of Movement for Change and former Prime Minister of Vanuatu. Zhou Haicheng, Chinese Ambassador to Vanuatu, was present at the event.
Speaking positively of China-Vanuatu relations and outcomes in anti-pandemic cooperation between both countries, Guo expressed that the CPC is ready to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the Reunification of Movement for Change, share experience in state governance and administration, and play a bigger role in promoting the development of China-Vanuatu relations.
Salwai extended warm congratulations to the 99th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, and spoke highly of China’s contributions to global efforts fighting the COVID-19. He expressed that the Reunification of Movement for Change upholds the one-China policy, supports China’s stances on issues related to Hong Kong and the South China Sea, and hopes to step up practical cooperation between the two countries under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, in a bid to better benefit the people of both countries.
