Beijing, May 20th—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the morning with Monday Semaya Kenneth Kumba, Deputy Foreign Minister of South Sudan and outgoing Ambassador of South Sudan to China.
Chen congratulated Monday on his appointment as Deputy Foreign Minister, and spoke highly of his contributions to promoting the development of China-South Africa relations and exchanges between the two ruling Parties during his tenure as Ambassador to China. He said, China is willing to work with South Sudan to consolidate political mutual trust, firmly support each other's core interests and major concerns, and promote practical cooperation in various fields. The CPC is willing to work with the Sudan People's Liberation Movement of South Sudan (SPLM) to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, and promote China-South Sudan relations for greater development through inter-party channels.
Monday thanked the IDCPC for the support and assistance during his tenure as ambassador to China. He said he will continue to be committed to promoting the development of South Sudan-China relations and exchanges and cooperation between the two ruling Parties. He stressed that South Sudan attaches great importance to developing relations with China, and will continue to provide China with firm support on the Taiwan question and other issues involving China's core interests. He hoped to continuously improve practical cooperation between the two countries to help with South Africa's economic development. The SPLM is willing to strengthen exchanges at all levels with the CPC, and deepen exchanges and mutual learning, so as to better serve the development of bilateral relations.
