Xiongan, June 26th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the afternoon with a delegation of local party and government officials from the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN-UML), which came here to attend the "Stories of CPC—Xiongan's Achievements in Practicing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era".
Sun said, China and Nepal are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. In recent years, under the leadership of President Xi Jinping and Nepali leaders, the relationship between the two countries has seen robust development. In the new context, the Chinese side is willing to work with the Nepali side to deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), advance the strategic partnership featuring ever-lasting friendship for development and prosperity between the two countries, and benefit the two countries and peoples. The CPC highly values its friendly relations with the CPN (UML), supports Nepal in exploring a development path suited to its national conditions, and is willing to expand inter-party exchanges and enhance exchanges and mutual learning of experience in state governance and administration.
BIshnu Rimal, Deputy General Secretary of the CPN(UML), expressed gratitude for the Chinese side's long-standing and huge support for Nepal's independent and sustainable development. Rimal said, the Nepali side considers the Chinese side a trustworthy development partner and remains committed to the one-China principle, will not allow any force to use Nepal's territory for anti-China activities. The CPN(UML) highly admires the achievements and governance concepts of the CPC, and is willing to further strengthen exchanges between the two Parties, deepen the exchange of ideas, accelerate the Belt and Road cooperation, and promote the healthy and stable development of Nepal-China relations.
