Beijing, June 27th—Zhao Shitong, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with Yasushi Kudo, Representative from the Genron NPO of Japan and Chairman of the Japanese Executive Committee of the Beijing-Tokyo Forum.
Zhao praised the longstanding efforts of the Genron NPO and Yasushi Kudo in fostering mutual understanding between the peoples of China and Japan through the Beijing-Tokyo Forum. He noted, amidst the profound and complex changes in the current international and regional landscape, both Chinese and Japanese people aspire for healthy and stable China-Japan relations and the joint maintenance of regional peace and stability. It is hoped that both sides will respond to the wishes of the people, effectively utilize platforms like the Beijing-Tokyo Forum, enhance exchanges among various sectors, particularly among politicians, and make more positive voices to contribute to these goals.
Yasushi Kudo said, the Japanese side's is willing to cooperate with the Chinese side to successfully host the upcoming 20th Tokyo-Beijing Forum this year, deepen dialogue and advance Japan-China relations while jointly addressing regional and global challenges. The Genron NPO is willing to strengthen cooperation with the International Department of the CPC Central Committee to facilitate more strategic communications among politicians from both countries.
