Beijing, July 11th—Ma Hui, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with a delegation of young scholars of the University of Pennsylvania. The delegation was led by Neysun Mahboubi, Director of the Penn Project on the Future of U.S.-China Relations at the University of Pennsylvania.
Ma said, the meeting between the heads of state of China and the U.S. in San Francisco opened up a future-oriented San Francisco vision. The two sides should further implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and push exchanges and cooperation in various fields for more results. Ma welcomed the efforts of Penn Project on the Future of U.S.-China Relations to organize scholars who care about the development of bilateral relations to visit China, and believed the trip could enhance mutual understanding and correct perception between the two countries.
The US side said, the San Francisco meeting between the two heads of state is of vital importance to bilateral relations. The US side appreciates President Xi Jinping's announcement of inviting 50,000 young Americans to China for exchange and study in the next five years. Penn Project on the Future of U.S.-China Relations is willing to continue to promote academic exchanges between the U.S. and China and actively contribute to enhancing mutual understanding between the two countries.
