Beijing, September 23rd—Ma Hui, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Jeroen Cooreman, Director General for Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium.
Ma spoke positively of China-Belgium relations, saying that Belgium has long been at the forefront of Western countries in terms of cooperation with China. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the all-round friendly cooperative partnership between China and Belgium. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Belgian side to enhance mutual understanding, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and promote China-Belgium and China-European Union (EU) relations for sustained and healthy development. Ma also introduced the spirit of the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
Cooreman said, since the beginning of this year, the two countries have had frequent high-level interactions, and advanced cooperation in economy, trade, and people-to-people and cultural engagement. The Belgian side follows the major measures for further deepening reform comprehensively rolled out at the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and hopes to further tap the cooperation potential between the two sides and promote the development of bilateral relations.
Both sides also exchanged views on China-EU relations, the Ukraine Crisis, and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
