Beijing, October 9th—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the afternoon with Dr. Christian Turner, Political Director at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office of the UK.
Lu introduced the spirit of the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, emphasizing that the two sides should implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen dialogue, expand consensus, and jointly promote the steady and long-term development of China-UK relations.
Turner said that the UK is willing to develop long-term and stable bilateral relations with strategic significance with China, strengthen contact and dialogue in various fields and deepen cooperation.
The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
