Ma Hui Meets with Osmar Junior, Executive Secretary of Brazil’s Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight against Hunger

Beijing, October 10th—Ma Hui, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today upon request with Osmar Junior, Executive Secretary of Brazil’s Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight against Hunger.

Ma said, 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil. Under the joint guidance of the two heads of state, the connotation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Brazil has been increasingly enriched and developed. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen communication and dialogue with the Brazilian political parties and government, deepen experience sharing and practical cooperation in poverty reduction and rural revitalization, and continuously improve the well-being of the two peoples.

Junior said that Brazil highly appreciates China's historic achievements in poverty reduction and is willing to actively learn from China's experience and practices, strengthen coordination and cooperation with China within the frameworks of the G20, BRICS and other multilateral mechanisms, and jointly promote regional and global poverty reduction.
