Chen Zhou Meets with a Delegation of Scholars of Think Tanks from Emerging Markets and Developing Countries

Nanjing, November 13th—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation of scholars of think tanks from emerging markets and developing countries.

Chen welcomed the delegation, which was on a visit to China and participated in the second Global South Think Tanks Dialogue. He said, the Global South has become a key force in the transformation of the international order. Global South countries should jointly promote equality, adhere to openness and inclusiveness, strengthen unity and cooperation, and better benefit the people of all countries. China has always been a member of the Global South, and will always be a developing country. China will work with the vast number of Global South countries to implement President Xi Jinping's important initiatives, jointly form a Global South Think Tanks Alliance, and promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges and mutual learning in state governance and administration among countries.

Iftekhar Anis, Director General of Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) said, the Global South Think Tanks Dialogue helps Global South countries strengthen communication, share experiences and further deepen cooperation. Think tank scholars should work together to provide more intellectual support for the unity and cooperation of the Global South, help Global South countries enhance mutual trust and build consensus, better respond to global challenges, and promote the common prosperity of the Global South.
