Beijing, January 2nd—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the afternoon with Peter Tan Hai Chuan, Singaporean Ambassador to China.
Sun gave a positive assessment of China-Singapore relations. She said, the institutionalized exchanges between the CPC and the People's Action Party (PAP) of Singapore have achieved positive results, effectively promoting understanding and political trust between the two sides. This year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore. China is willing to work closely with Singapore to further promote more solid and in-depth growth of exchanges between the ruling parties of the two countries, and continuously consolidate the political and public opinion foundation of bilateral relations.
Peter Tan Hai Chuan said, Singapore attaches great importance to developing relations between the two countries and the ruling parties, and hopes to carry out more frequent exchanges and interactions to deepen mutual understanding as well as exchanges and mutual learning of governance experience.
