On the afternoon of May 26th, Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the High-standard Opening-up for Integrated Development of Asia, a sub-forum of the CPC in Dialogue with Political Parties of Neighboring Countries, and delivered a keynote speech. Bhokin Bhalakula, former President of the National Assembly of Thailand, former Deputy Prime Minister and President of Thai-Chinese Culture and Economy Association, Mohd Hatta bin Md Ramli, Vice Chairman of Parti Amanah Negara (PAS) and Senator of Malaysia, Zhang Ge, Secretary of CPC Haidian District Committee of Beijing attended and addressed the event.
Lu said, this year marks the 10th anniversary of President Xi Jinping's proposal of building an Asian community with a shared future. China has always adhered to the Asian values of peace, cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, and has worked hand in hand with neighboring countries to achieve openness, cooperation and mutual benefit. Political and business circles of neighboring countries should further leverage their respective advantages, enhance dialogue and exchanges, and strengthen the alignment of development strategies, connectivity upgrade, and mutually beneficial trade and investment, so as to promote inclusive and beneficial economic globalization through Asian openness and integration.
The sub-forum was jointly organized by the China Economic Cooperation Center and the Haidian District People's Government of Beijing. More than 120 representatives of political parties, government officials responsible for economic affairs, and business communities from nearly 20 neighboring countries, as well as representatives of relevant departments and enterprises of Haidian District attended the event. After the forum, Chinese and foreign entrepreneurs engaged in matchmaking and exchange activities, which yielded sound and pragmatic outcomes.
