Beijing, July 10th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with a delegation of political parties from South and Southeast Asia led by Jhala Nath Khanal, senior leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister of Nepal.
Sun welcomed the leaders of the political parties from South and Southeast Asian countries to China and their attendance at the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Civilizations Dialogue. She stated that China always advocates that all civilizations are splendid and diverse, and complement and inspire each other. Countries should respect the diversity of world civilizations and call for equal dialogue and mutual respect among different civilizations. China's neighboring countries, including those in South and Southeast Asia, are a priority in China's overall diplomacy. The CPC stands ready to continuously work with political parties in neighboring countries to enhance inter-party exchanges, deepen mutual learning on governance experience, and jointly build a community with a shared future with neighboring countries.
The foreign guests said that China's neighboring countries in South Asia and Southeast Asia attach great importance to developing relations with China and always regard China as an important development partner. Political parties in South Asia and Southeast Asia support the the Global Civilization Initiative and the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping. They are willing to continue to strengthen communication and exchanges with the CPC, and do their bit to boost their respective countries' relations with China, and deepen practical cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade, culture and tourism.
