Beijing, July 11th—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation of political heavyweights from the countries in North America and Oceania led by Hon. Charlot Salwai, President of Reunification Movement for Change and former Prime Minister of Vanuatu.
Lu welcomed the delegation's visit to China and their participation in the Global Civilizations Dialogue Ministerial Meeting. He said, a peaceful and developing world should accommodate different forms of civilizations. Strengthening exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations is conducive to maintaining the diversity of human civilizations, enhancing mutual understanding and trust, and promoting practical cooperation and understanding and friendship among peoples. China supports all countries in exploring their own development paths based on their national conditions and is willing to work with all parties to enhance ideological exchanges, learn from each other, and achieve common development.
The representatives of the delegation said, the prosperity of great civilizations in history has always been inseparable from openness, exchanges, and mutual learning. The Global Civilization Initiative proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping is inspiring. All countries are a community with a shared future. They expressed the willingness to work together with China to promote exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations and jointly address global challenges.
The two sides also exchanged views on bilateral relations and inter-party exchanges.
