Beijing, July 11th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the afternoon with a delegation of political parties of Central and Eastern European countries(CEEC). 

Sun spoke positively of the relations between China and CEEC, stating that China is willing to further enhance friendly exchanges with the political parties of the region, strengthen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, deepen mutual learning among civilizations, and jointly promote new achievements in cooperation between China and CEEC, as well as the stable development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the European Union (EU). 

The representatives of the political parties highly appreciated the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping and the significant meaning of Chinese modernization in promoting the development of global civilizations. They said, the countries in the region attach great importance to developing relations with China and are willing to further strengthen inter-party exchanges to contribute to deepening practical cooperation in such fields as economy, trade, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, as well as science and technology, and promoting the development of China-CEEC relations and China-EU relations.
