Beijing, October 17th—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Rawiri Waititi, Co-Leader of New Zealand Maori Party.
Lu welcomed Waititi's and his delegation to visit China. He said, in June this year, President Xi Jinping met with visiting Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, and the two sides reached important consensus, which has charted the course for the future development of bilateral relations. China is willing to work with New Zealand to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen cooperation in various fields, and bring more benefits to the people of both countries. The CPC attaches great importance to its relations with the New Zealand Maori Party and is willing to strengthen exchanges and dialogue with the New Zealand Maori Party, enhance mutual understanding and trust, and promote the steady and long-term development of China-New Zealand relations.
Waititi said, the New Zealand Maori Party attaches great importance to developing its relations with China. Like the CPC, the New Zealand Maori Party is always committed to improving the well-being of the people. It looks forward to strengthening exchanges with the CPC and promoting the continuous development of bilateral relations.
The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common interest.
