Beijing, March 6th—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), celebrated the Chinese New Year here today with diplomatic envoys from Pacific island countries (PICs) to China including Tonga, the Federated States of Micronesia, Samoa, Kiribati, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji.

Lu said, last year, China and PICs maintained close high-level exchanges, advanced pragmatic cooperation, deepened people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and strengthened coordination on international affairs. China is willing to work with all parties to implement the important consensus of President Xi Jinping and the leaders of PICs, promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and jointly build a closer China-PICs community with a shared future. The CPC attaches great importance to developing relations with political parties of PICs and is willing to continue to make good use of platforms such as China-Pacific Island Countries Political Leadership Dialogue to strengthen concept exchanges and enhance political mutual trust with PICs. Lu also briefed on this year's Two Sessions, the annual sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and the CPC's education campaign to help officials gain a correct understanding of what it means to perform well and act accordingly.
Diplomatic envoys from PICs to China highly praised the development of relations between China and PICs in 2025, saying that PICs will continue to firmly adhere to the one-China policy and actively promote cooperation with China in various fields. They congratulated the successful convening of the Two Sessions, and said they believed that the launch and implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan will bring greater opportunities for cooperation between PICs and China. Political parties and political heavyweights from PICs look forward to strengthening exchanges with the CPC, engaging in experience exchange in state governance and administration, and promoting economic and social development of respective countries.
