Kunming, July 4th—The 11th China-South and Southeast Asian Think Tank Forum, themed "Implement the Four Global Initiatives for a Closer Community with a Shared Future," was held here today. The forum was co-hosted by the Global South Think Tanks Cooperation Alliance and the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences/Chinese (Kunming) Academy of South and Southeast Asian Studies. Jin Xin, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Zeng Yan, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. More than 100 political heavyweights, scholars and business representatives from 18 countries attended the forum. 

Jin noted that the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC has offered an in-depth exposition of the contemporary value and global significance of the practice of Chinese modernization under the leadership of the CPC. From the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity, and to the four global initiatives, China has consistently responded to the questions of the times with Chinese wisdom. Faced with an increasingly complex international situation, think tanks in South Asia and Southeast Asia could carry out in-depth research on promoting the implementation of the four global initiatives and on creating "demonstration zones" for practicing the four global initiatives, so as to contribute Asian wisdom and provide regional examples for the building of a community with a shared future for humanity. 

Zeng noted that Yunnan, as an important gateway of China's opening-up to South Asia and Southeast Asia, will continue to leverage its geographical and platform advantages, deepen practical cooperation with neighboring countries, expand connectivity, economic, trade and investment, and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and promote think tank outcomes that better serve regional development, contributing wisdom and strength to regional peace and stability, common prosperity and the building of a closer community with a shared future. 

During the forum, participants held in-depth exchanges and discussions on important topics such as development, security, civilization and governance. They noted that, against the backdrop of accelerating changes unseen in a century, the four global initiatives have provided new public intellectual goods for the international community. South and Southeast Asian countries should prioritize development, safeguard common security, deepen mutual learning among civilizations, and improve cooperation mechanisms, and take the implementation of the four global initiatives as the focus to jointly push the building of a community with a shared future with neighboring countries to a higher level.
