Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan meets with US delegates from the Democratic Party and the Republican Party who attended the 11th China-U.S. Political Party Leaders Dialogue in Beijing, Nov. 20, 2019.
Beijing, November 20th—Wang Qishan, Vice President of China, met here today with the delegation of the Democratic Party and the Republican Party of the US who attended the 11th China-U.S. Political Party Leaders Dialogue.
Wang said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral ties between China and the US have moved forward on the whole despite a few obstacles. The world pays attention to China-US relations. Strengthening communication and exchanges between the political parties, think tanks, the economy and the people of the two countries is conducive to building a China-US relationship based on coordination, cooperation and stability. We need to deepen our understanding of the world and each other's history and reality through a broader historical perspective and a comparative perspective between eastern and western civilizations, so as to promote the sound and rational development of bilateral relations and world peace and stability. We hope the China-US Political Party Leaders Dialogue will continue to contribute to this end.
Gary Locke, a representative of the Democratic Party, and Alphonso Jackson, a representative of the Republican Party said that the stable development of bilateral relations benefits the two peoples, and they are willing to play an active role in keeping active communication and frank dialogue with the Chinese side, and together find ways to properly handle frictions and differences and promote the development of the bilateral relations.
