The International Department of the CPC Central Committee, together with the CPC Hebei Provincial Committee and the Working Committee of Xiongan New Area, jointly held a thematic briefing on “Stories of CPC: Xiongan’s Achievements in Practicing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era”on June 27, in Xiongan New Area.  

With the theme of “A Millennium Prospect for the Coordinated Development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region”, the event attracted over 230 political party leaders or representatives from nearly 40 countries.  

During an interview with The Paper and other Chinese media outlets, Dianelys Garcia Acosta, vice-rector of University Nico Lopez of the Communist Party of Cuba, expressed her delight after visiting Baiyangdian. She mentioned that she was very happy and that she really liked the place.  

This place fully embodied the concept of ecological protection proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping within the framework of Chinese modernization, said Dianelis. For Chinese modernization, ecological protection and harmonious development between man and nature are very important aspects. In Baiyangdian, I witnessed biodiversity and extensive greenery, which made me feel very gratified, she added, saying that seeing this city under vigorous construction, she believed that such a beautiful ecological environment will be highly beneficial for the future residents of Xiongan.  

During the tour, she learned that Xiongan will provide high-quality and comprehensive services in areas such as healthcare, education and employment. Young people can come to Xiongan to pursue their careers, bringing more potential to the development of the area.  

When it comes to the differences between Chinese modernization and Western modernization, she stated that China’s development model and Chinese modernization put people first. The starting point and ultimate goal of all development plans and achievements are centered on the well-being of the people. The political and economic development model of socialism with Chinese characteristics has its own unique features, but at the same time, it holds significant value for the development of other countries. China’s development achievements emphasize the concept of shared prosperity, and this balanced and equitable development is worth learning from for many countries.
