Beijing, August 21st—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, the outgoing Ambassador of Nepal to China.
Liu spoke highly of Shrestha's contributions to deepening China-Nepal relations during his term of office. Liu said, under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China-Nepal relations have maintained healthy and stable development in recent years. No matter how the international situation changes, the Chinese side is firmly committed to developing friendly relations with Nepal and stands ready to work with the Nepali side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries, deepen practical cooperation, strengthen the exchanges of experience in state governance and administration and promote the continuous development of China-Nepal strategic partnership featuring ever-lasting friendship for development and prosperity.
Shrestha said, the Nepali side highly admires China's great achievements under the leadership of the CPC and looks forward to taking the express train of China's development to share the opportunities of Chinese modernization. Attaching great importance to developing relations with China, the Nepali side is willing to work with the Chinese side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and push for new progress in bilateral cooperation in various fields. I will continue to play a positive role in promoting Nepal-China friendship.
