Beijing, August 29th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan led by Katsuya Okada, Secretary General of the Constitutional Democratic Party. 

Liu said, the world today is undergoing major changes unseen in a century, and China-Japan relations are also at a critical stage. It is hoped that the Japanese side will work with the Chinese side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen political dialogue, establish a correct mutual understanding, deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields and at all levels, properly manage conflicts and differences, build China-Japan relations that meet the requirements of the new era, and strive to pass on a stable, friendly, and bright China-Japan relations. 

Liu noted, the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan is an important force in promoting the development of China-Japan relations. The CPC attaches great importance to developing friendly exchanges with the Constitutional Democratic Party, and is willing to take the signing of the memorandum of exchanges and cooperation as an opportunity to strengthen institutionalized exchanges with the Constitutional Democratic Party and promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields to advance the healthy and stable development of China-Japan relations. 

Katsuya Okada said, high-level exchanges and political party dialogue between Japan and China are crucial to deepening mutual trust between the two sides. The Constitutional Democratic Party attaches great importance to relations with China and is ready to take this visit as an opportunity to have in-depth communication and dialogue with the Chinese side, promote exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties, and create conditions for both sides to properly manage conflicts and differences. 

After the meeting, Liu and Katsuya Okada jointly signed a memorandum of exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties.
