Beijing, December 25th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Phạm Sao Mai, Vietnamese Ambassador to China who was about to leave his post. 

Liu spoke positively of Phạm Sao Mai's active contributions to promoting the development of relations between the two Parties and the two countries during his tenure. Liu said in recent years, under the guidance and strong leadership of the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, China-Vietnam relations have reached a new height of building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance. Next year will be the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam. Meanwhile both countries will usher in important domestic agendas. China is willing to work with Vietnam to jointly implement the series of important consensus reached by General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary To Lam, maintain high-level exchanges, strengthen political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation in various fields, and strengthen multilateral strategic coordination to promote the steady development of relations between the two Parties and the two countries. The IDCPC is willing to continue to maintain close cooperation with the Vietnamese Embassy in China.  

Phạm Sao Mai reviewed his work experience in China and sincerely thanked China, especially the IDCPC for lending help to him for fulfilling his duties. He said he was privileged to participate in and witness the tremendous development of the relations between the two Parties and the two countries during his tenure, which was inseparable from the strategic planning of the top leaders of the two Parties and the joint efforts of the two peoples. Vietnam is willing to work with China to take the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China and the China-Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges, intensify inter-party exchanges and cooperation, deepen friendship between the two peoples, and promote relations between the two Parties and the two countries for in-depth and solid development, so as to better benefit the two peoples.
