Beijing, December 25th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Takeshi Iwaya, Japanese Minister for Foreign Affairs.
The two sides believed that China-Japan relations carry important significance that transcends bilateral relations. The two sides should implement the important consensus reached by President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, strengthen high-level exchanges and dialogue and communication in all fields and at all levels, enhance mutual understanding, deepen friendship between the two peoples, and intensify personnel exchanges. The two countries should help the two peoples view China-Japan relations from a perspective of mutual respect, mutual appreciation and helping each other succeed, comprehensively promote China-Japan strategic relationship of mutual benefit, and inject more stability into the world. The ruling parties should strengthen dialogue, deepen understanding, and establish a correct understanding.
