Beijing, January 6th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Eduardo Salhuana, President of the Congress of Peru.
Liu said, Peru is one of the first Latin American countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China and to join the Belt and Road Initiative. In recent years, President Xi Jinping and successive presidents of Peru have reached a series of strategic consensus on the development of China-Peru relations. China is willing to work with Peru to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, promote the quality and upgrading of China-Peru practical cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, strengthen dialogue between civilizations and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and promote the implementation of the Joint Action Plan of the Government of China and the Government of Peru (2024-2029), so as to inject new impetus into the sustained and stable development of the China-Peru comprehensive strategic partnership.
Liu said, the CPC attaches great importance to the friendly relations with all political parties in Peru and is willing to further strengthen exchanges, cooperation and political dialogue, carry out in-depth experience exchanges and mutual learning of state governance and administration around issues of common concern such as party building, young cadre training, and modernization, promote cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade, science and technology, and cooperation at local level, achieve common development, and better benefit the two peoples. Liu also introduced the relevant situation of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI).
Salhuana said, Peru and China, both ancient civilizations, share a long-standing friendship. China is Peru's largest trading partner. Last year, in particular, in the presence of the two heads of state, Chancay port successfully opened, opening up the new land-sea corridor connecting Asia and Latin America. "From Chancay to Shanghai" has become a popular phrase among the Peruvian people. More Chinese companies are welcome to invest and start businesses in Peru. And Peru is willing to provide a good business environment for this purpose. The political parties in Peru are willing to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in state governance and administration with the CPC, deepen exchanges and cooperation in youth training, party building, and dialogue among civilizations, and promote Peru-China comprehensive strategic partnership for continuous development. A series of major initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping have exerted a positive impact in Peru. And Peru is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in this regard.
