Beijing, May 2nd—Li Jun, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation of young Diet members of the Kōchikai of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan headed by Kihara Seiji, Member of the House of Representatives and Deputy Chairperson of Policy Research Council of the LDP.

Speaking positively of the Kōchikai’s fine tradition of committing to China-Japan friendship, Li hoped that both sides will cherish the hard-won momentum of improvement in China-Japan relations, well safeguard the political foundation of bilateral relations, and eliminate disturbing factors, so as to create a sound environment for bilateral high-level exchanges.

Kihara expressed that the Japanese side stands ready to make joint efforts with China to ensure that Premier Li Keqiang’s attendance at the leaders’ meeting of Japan, China and the Republic of Korea in Japan as well as his official visit to Japan will achieve complete success, and constantly promote Japan-China relations for improvement and development.
