Beijing, November 18th—the promotion symposium on China-CEEC sub-national cooperation organized by the International Department of the CPC Central Committee was held here today. More than 60 people were present, including representatives from the ruling parties of the Central and Eastern European countries and China's 8 local provinces and cities. They exchanged views on the theme of strengthening China-CEEC sub-national practical cooperation.

Qian Hongshan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended and addressed the function. Speaking positively of the fruitful results since the establishment of the mechanism of the "17+1 cooperation", Qian pointed out that the CPC and the CEEC ruling parties have the responsibility to play a political guiding role, build more effective cooperation platforms, and further advance integration development strategies between China and CEEC, and promote the Belt and Road Initiative and the "17 + 1 cooperation" under its framework for more in-depth and greater development, so as to truly benefit the people of China, CEEC and other European countries.

Representatives of the CEEC ruling parties said that they are ready to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the CPC, actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and the "17+1 cooperation" under its framework, and make efforts to realize common development and prosperity of China and CEEC through strengthening sub-national exchanges and practical cooperation.

After the promotion event, a matchmaking event for sub-national cooperation was also held.
