Beijing, January 7th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the morning with Nazmul Islam, Ambassador of Bangladesh to China.
Sun welcomed Nazmul on his assumption of the new post in China, spoke positively of China-Bangladesh relations, and expressed hope that Bangladesh would achieve stable development under the leadership of the interim government. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh. The CPC is willing to further strengthen exchanges and interactions with political parties, media, and civil society organizations of Bangladesh, enhance mutual understanding, deepen mutual learning, and play an active role in promoting practical cooperation in various fields between the two countries. It is hoped that Bangladesh will maintain social stability and create a favorable environment for Chinese companies to invest and start businesses.
Nazmul said, successive governments of Bangladesh all attached great importance to developing friendly relations with China. Bangladesh expects the two countries to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to strengthen high-level exchanges, enhance inter-party exchanges, and deepen cooperation in economy, trade, medical care, education, media, etc. Bangladesh will make efforts to safeguard the safety and interests of Chinese-funded projects and personnel in Bangladesh and promote Bangladesh-China relations for new development.
