Beijing, January 8th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the afternoon with Krishna Prasad Oli, Ambassador of Nepal to China.
Sun welcomed Ambassador Oli on his assumption of the new post, and gave a positive assessment of the latest progress in China-Nepal friendly cooperation. She said, this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal. The CPC is willing to work with all major political parties and all sectors of Nepal to strengthen exchanges and interactions, deepen mutual learning in state governance and administration, and promote mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields in a practical way, so as to play an active role in accelerating the implementation of the important consensus of the leaders of the two countries on deepening China-Nepal cooperation under the new situation.
Ambassador Oli said, Nepal attaches great importance to its relations with China and firmly adheres to the one-China policy. It is hoped that the two countries will take the opportunity of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations to accelerate the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and deepen practical cooperation in areas such as interconnectivity, agriculture, tourism, and ecological protection. The Nepalese Embassy in China hopes to work closely with the IDCPC and other departments to promote the implementation of cooperation in various fields between Nepal and China.
